A handsome sterling silver signet ring with a blank shield-shaped face. The substantial silver shield is applied to a heavy half-round band embellished with engraved beading. The shield is engraved around its edge with a light, hatched pattern. The interior of the band bears a distinctive maker's mark that appears to be the letter "B" conjoined with the letter "E" or "W."
